He handed Gautam a list of training institutes, contacts, and a small loan of 5,000 rupees to start. “Wo officer mera bagwan tha,” Gautam tearfully recalls, “usne mujhe nayi zindagi di.” With this blessing, he left Nar, promising his family he’d return a changed man.
